Tea was one of the most important products of Taiwan’s export trading. Our tea products are famous worldwide. In 1923, when Taiwan was ruled by the Japanese, the well-known Japanese Mitsui enterprise settled here and built the Dabao tea factory. To increases the trade volume, Mitsui enterprise introduced the most advanced heavy oil engine to make up to 650,000 pounds of tea per year. At this time, Dabao tea factory had the most trade volume in northern Taiwan.
